Automatic or Spontaneous Writing in Making Choices

My theme for September is “I have a choice”. Once you know you have a choice, then trying to make a decision, big or small, it can be beneficial to tune in to your intuitive abilities. Using automatic writing, spontaneous writing or as I say intuitive writing, is one way to do this.

Simply stated, this means letting your pen write down whatever comes to you without thinking about it or questioning it. Grab a pen and paper before answering the questions of what choice is in your highest good and best interest.

The questions can be used, for example, in your career situations. Here are some prompts:

What do you feel connected to?

What makes you feel connected so yourself?

What do you want out of your life?

What skills do you have?

How can you better use your gifts?

How can you use your unique skill set in a more fulfilling ways?

At several davidji retreats, he has use this and he gave us the prompts and only a short period to write. It needs to be spontaneous. The quicker and clearer your “intuitive read,” the more accurate it is and the more empowered you will feel. If you find yourself second-guessing or overthinking as you try this, that’s a sign that your ego has taken over this exercise. And as davidji teaches “the ego is not an adventurer”.

Intuitive answers are short, direct, and to the point, leaving you feeling relieved, informed, strengthened, and clear. They are kind compassionate and most importantly surprising! In contrast, a negative ego judgment or projection is often long-winded ruminations, which are rambling, competitive, righteous, and usually leaves you feeling yucky.
