Let the Mud Settle…

ALLOW THE RIGHT ACTION TO ARISE.

“We must be willing to let go of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us” -Joseph Campbell

Following davidji’s suggestion, my intention for August is to take a step back and let the muddy waters clear. Thich Nhat Hanh in his book “Touching Peace” expressed this concept in the following:

“The refreshing moon of the Buddha is traveling in the sky of utmost emptiness. If the pond of the mind is still, the beautiful moon will reflect in it.”

July was my month of transformation. However, with transformation there is a certain amount of chaos – packing then unpacking; changes of address, new driver’s license & plates; new grocery stores, finding places to get my haircut and of course where does one do their spa days. Everything the last two weeks seem to be coming at me so fast that there was little time just to “be”.

So, in August, I will be able to sit quietly and let the mud settle knowing that the right next actions will arise on their own through the synchronicities of the universe.

As always, davidji teaches us to practice the “pause”- so the next few weeks I will try to create the space for the next phase of my life to unfold as it will…

Om Varunam Namah…My life is in harmony with my cosmic purpose.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 15

“Do you have the patience to wait

till your mud settles and the water is clear?

Can you remain unmoving till the right action arises by itself?”

The Master doesn’t seek fulfillment.

Not seeking, not expecting,

she is present, and can welcome all things”

– translated by Stephen Mitchell (2006)
