Continuing my theme of “I will not take anything personally” here is a great edited quote of an old Buddhist saying is “Truth is only as real as our delusion allows”. Byron Katie says we all have our stories. We all perceive through our sense. Our intellect stores the information after our ego filters it based upon our biases and our prior conditioning. Then ego edits and creates its own story based upon this information. This story we say is “truth”. Then “truth” is only as real as our delusion allows. I have chosen to replace “I am speaking my truth” with “I will offer my perspective”.
In conversation I often say someone made me angry. However, no one can make me angry. I choose to be angry! Only I choose my response. Despite my protestations, no one makes me crazy. I allow myself to be crazy. I get to choose how I respond.
