This month my theme has been:” “My intuition leads me toward my highest good, and I’m going with it.”
Throughout the month, I have learned intuition at any level will lead me into what is new or unknown. No matter what level I am working on or which way I think I am going, intuition leads me past the boundaries of what I once knew into areas of new discovery. No matter how much I know, there is always more to be discovered. Intuitive experiences, regardless of whether they occur spontaneously or as a result of training, invariably expand consciousness to include more of reality, and more understanding of what is true.
If I reflect on my life and consider the turning points which led me into new experiences, I now recognize the role of intuition. I cannot know in advance what the outcome of a particular course of action will be.
Decisions are based on what is known, and on what is intuitively felt to be the right course. Few people move to a new place, or take up a new career without some doubts and uncertainties about whether they have made the right decision. Such decisions may even appear to be irrational or at least semi rational. A person may leave a secure job in order to explore a new career in a completely different field. Or a person, like me, may intuitively inquire about attending a workshop or class which is of little interest, and end up enrolled in something that profoundly influences his or her personal growth. As a favor for a friend, I went to a meditation workshop in 2007 in Sedona. This intuitive decision has changed my life. I now teach meditation, yoga, and the ayurvedic life style. I now am a holistic life coach.
How many times have you chosen one course of action over another on the basis of intuition? This month I made a list of the spontaneously occurring instances in my life which I now know I was acting on your intuition. I took the time to reflect on whether I made the choice which was in my highest good, and what alternatives were open to me.
Ask yourself whether you can trust your intuition, and notice how it works for you in your life. A good way to develop intuition further is to talk to a friend about intuition and discuss your intuitive experiences. Many people who are quite aware of their intuition do not talk about it because they are concerned the response to their intuitive experiences will appear strange or unusual. Yet what I have found is most enjoy talking about them. They also seem pleased and relieved when they find others who share their interest and like to talk about their own experiences with a sympathetic listener. I am amazed and often reassured, if I had not discussed how intuition works in my life, I would not know that it is operative in another’s life, in one way or another.
Spontaneously occurring intuitive experiences can offer a renewed sense of vitality, excitement, and engagement with life. Mystical or transpersonal experiences which have no material goal or purpose can totally transform one’s view of reality. Intuition is involved not only in the practical decisions which shape your life, but also in your choice of beliefs about the nature of the universe. Belief systems are often chosen unconsciously and they can shape one’s perception in such a way as to vitiate alternative beliefs.
Everyone makes assumptions about the nature of reality, and these assumptions form subjective belief systems rather than objective observations. These belief systems may be attributed to early conditioning, but as soon as one is willing to question them and consider alternative views, one opens up the possibility of choice. What you believe to be true shapes your experience, and beliefs are chosen intuitively, not rationally and these beliefs are the ones you have chosen to run your life. The process of expanding intuitive awareness means exploring, questioning, and perhaps changing some of the assumptions you have taken for granted up to now.
I have learned intuition is kind, calm, compassionate and most importantly, surprising. I am learning to trust intuition and now try to use it in my everyday life. The only standard: “Ask the universe what is in my highest good?” The answer will come forth in whispers and will be a surprise. So, I will continue each day to affirm: “My intuition leads me toward my highest good, and I’m going with it.”
